Our emails are safe, but what about...

We live in a strange world. We see lot of surprises, we live among such surprises, till one day we realize it.

Well here is the surprise for you. Our email accounts be it Yahoo or Gmail offers 2 step authentication to prevent somebody just knowing our username or password can hack in and destroy our digital presence. But do your bank offers the same privilege?

Most of the banks don't do. Well at least not for logging in. Only when RBI mandated the same, the banks without willingness implemented the 2-Step authentication for the transactions that you do.

In nutshell it means that a harmless hacker if he knows the username or password (do you smile because its not possible?) can access all your financial details.

I have just done a casual googling and discovered only ICICI bank does this now. I am not sure about how many persons make use of this "service" though.

Please somebody reading this, make that our financial books are safe from hackers. At least spread the awareness and demand the authentication for login itself from your bank. One day it will be possible.

Now you know why I said "We live in a strange world." At least we value our emails more than bank records.

Pity us.
